Stories : Moments We Forget To Live

I have always loved writing. In any era, writing has always emerged as a silent warrior. Poems, Books, Novels, Articles, Stories, they all have been the torch bearer in the times of uncertainties.

So in these time of uncertainties, I am starting to feature a new section of writing. The life stories. Which will of course tell us what we already know but never implemented because we never lived it. But here we all have a chance to live all those phases with some common people issue we face everyday.

In the coming time, I’ll write stories about a boy named Sameer. Sameer, the wind, can not stick to one place for long, has to be moving all the time. We’ll get to know several aspects of his life and what all he has gone through in a span of 25 years of his eventful life.

Lets meet Sameer.

Sameer is an IT engineer by profession, but a dreamer by heart who is moving inch by inch, day by day towards his goals.
What his goals are, well that’s we’ll come to know in the near future when we’ll sit down with him over a cup of coffee and discuss what all common problems a boy faces which he never makes public and still give people smiles like the coool breezy wind in summer.

Vibrant, energetic, intelligent yet naive, being a part of a boy’s school throughout that too from his state board and in his local language, he never came out of his heart to live in the moment. He always miss to say the things when needed and later comes out with several thoughts to make him stand out, regrets, for all the chances he misses everyday.

Chance to express his feelings, chance to say no, chance to respond when someone is making fun of him, chance of let his thoughts out to stand out at his work place, chance to break into his passion for sports, yes he misses all these every simgle time. Yet when he sit back in evening, with his very own thoughts, he comes up with real good ideas to not repeat the mistakes again and growing as a better person.

He lives away with his family, what almost every youth today is doing, some just wish to, and some due to the circumstances or some due to lack of opportunities. He misses every part of his childhood, like we all do, whatever it was like, poor, ugly whichever way it was, we all love it. Here his memory plays a vital role in his journey. We all take lot of photos to keep memories fresh, but for Sameer it just takes a heartful of moment and that snap remains with him or should we say inside him forever.

It hurts sometimes, but brings some peaceful tears more often. Even after all this, you will find this person cheerful, creative, a giver, and above all a person who spreads happiness.

Excited to know more about Sameer, me too, see you until next time.

First Salary

I could remember the date exactly.

April 30th 2013, around 4:30 pm, I was sitting in the training room with all my batch mates when after all day’s anxiety, all of a sudden the phones started beeping and one of my friend sitting in front gave me rich smile but the training still had an hour to be done. Some of us couldn’t hold on to see the message and each one was like mine is this much, how much for you.

Well it was hard to concentrate but I held my nerves and only after 5:30 I took my phone out and saw the message. There it was, the salary was credited.

Your account number XXXXXXXXX has been credited with a sum of Rs. XXXXX.00. Such a lovely note that was, such a precious moment that was. Hard to explain, but coming out of the problems I had at my home few months back, and seeing myself at a point where even I can collaborate to the family’s earnings.

I debited Rs. 1000 cash immediately that evening. I was not with my family there, but yes friends were there so we celebrated and had a good snacking time.

At that point of time I was more than 3000 Kms far from my place, but I did what could do with my joy. I called up my parents and promised them to buy something for everyone. So I bought a saree for my mum, a t-shirt and jeans for daddy and a suit for my elder sister. It was still less for me to do for them.

So after two months, I went home to just surprise everybody, and the occasion was my mum-dad’s wedding anniversary. I boarded a flight in the morning and reached near to my home at 9 PM. My sister was sitting outside home talking to her friends.

I went and stood in front of her, she was shocked happily, shouted in joy and ran inside to inform mum and dad that I have arrived. None of them was actually believing but I was there fulfilling four corners of our land.

We had party next day, celebrated, I paid the bill, for which mum and dad was saying no but my sister made them agree and I felt that yes I have started on a journey to make them proud. The slight smiles on their faces was letting me fly, the inner feeling didn’t actually come out for anyone but it was felt deep inside.

Summing up all, I spent my salary, the so called first-salary for giving my parents the joy they deserved after what they have done for me to lift me up to this level. What I got in return was much beyond what I could have ever expected.

I got to see the world’s sweetest smile of my sister,

For she was missing me and was dying to see her brother.

Paying of bills may have made my father angry,

but deep within his heart, I knew he must have been happy.

I got to see those tears of joy in my mother’s eyes,

for what all struggles she did to make me rise.

I got to see happiness in my parents nerve,

for their son has become ready to serve.

I was very happy to bring a smile and confidence on those two people who have always supported in my life.

Don’t forget to put comment on what you did with your first salary. Must be something great.:)
